LONDON THE CITY FOR EVERYBODY
London, situated on the river Thames in the south-east
of Britain, isn't only the economic and politic capital of Great Britain, but
it is also a beautiful and impressive city full of magnificent buildings to see
and dynamic places where have fun. If you fly there, you will undoubtedly have
the best time of your life!
On the first day you will arrive at Gatwick Airport
in London and
afterwards you will transfer to hotel Savoy, where you will stay for four
nights. You will have lunch in the hotel restaurant. In the afternoon you will
begIn your visit of London by admiring the Tower of London,
the fortress built by William of Normandy which during the history has served
as a royal palace, seat of government, prison and jewel house. You can walking on Tower
Bridge too, the one bridge on the Thames
that can be raised, and admire a beautiful panorama of the famous river. In the
evening you will have free time to have dinner in the area around Petticoat
Square, which presents hospitable restaurants
and pubs.
On the second day you will visit the area of St
James's. You will see the Houses of
Parliament, where the House of Lords and the House of Commons meet to
discuss and pass laws, and the high clock tower situated near it which hosts
the famous bell called Big Ben. At
11.00 am you will see the Changing of the Guard in front of Buckingham Palace,
the official London
residence of the Queen and the Royal Family. Then you will have free time to
have lunch and go shopping. We recommend you Covent Garden, a
fashionable and stylish place with a lot of shops and places to eat something.
Around it there are a church, whose portico is an open air stage for buskers
and entertainers. In the afternoon you will admire one of the world's finest collections
of paintings of all schools in the National
Gallery. Finally, you will see Piccadilly
Circus, which is the most popular meeting point in the city, both for
shoppers and sightseers, and the centre of London's entertainment world.
On the third day you will visit the National History Museum, where animals,
ts, fossils and minerals will illustrate you the natural history of the
world from the beginning of time. Then you will take a walk in Kensington Gardens and Hide Park,
the biggest park
of London, the ideal for
anyone who want to relax, play sports or simply spent a day in the nature. In
the afternoon you will have the opportunity to make "crazy shopping" in Harrods, the big department store where
you can find everything.
On the fourth day you will visit Madame Tussaud's, a funny and impressive museum collecting a great
number of wax statues which reproduce famous characters of past and present
time. You will visit the Planetarium
too and, then, have a walk in the near Regent's
Park. The rest of the day will be free, so you can go shopping or visit the
town by your own.
On the last day you will visit the British Museum,
which contains an incredible collections of treasures,
such as the Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon, the Rosetta Stone and two
original copies of the Magna Charta. Then you will reach St Paul's Cathedral, built by Sir Cristopher Wren after the Great
Fire of 1666. You will have lunch in Savoy Restaurant Hotel. In the afternoon
you will depart from the centre of the city and you will reach Gatwick Airport.
You will reach London
by e (departure from Venice Airport and arrival in Gatwick Airport).
The transport around the city will be effected by a
private coach, which will take you to every place you will see.
